No, Jews are not baptized. Baptism is a Christian sacrament that symbolizes the cleansing of sin and the initiation into the Christian faith. In Judaism, there is no concept of baptism, as the faith does not believe in the original sin that baptism is meant to cleanse. Instead, Jewish religious rituals focus on practices such as circumcision, bar/bat mitzvah, and immersion in a mikvah for certain purification purposes. **

Babies are baptized in many Christian traditions as a way to welcome them into the faith community and to symbolize their inclusion in the church. It is also a way for parents and the church community to make a commitment to raise the child in the Christian faith and to support them in their spiritual journey. Additionally, baptism is often seen as a way to mark the beginning of a child's relationship with God and the church. **
